Reviewing Policy & Editorial Policy

Peer review
The review process is an important aspect of the publication process of an article. It helps an editor in making decision on an article and also enables the author to improve the manuscript. JESP operates a blind peer review system. The manuscript received is first scrutinised by the editorial committee and then sent to two reviewers who are generally experts in the area of research pertaining to the manuscript author’s field of study. The reviewers are given 4 weeks time to respond regarding the suitability of the manuscript for publication in the journal. After getting the positive reports from the reviewers the contributors are duly informed about the outcome. If modification or any clarification is required the same is sought and the manuscript is got modified accordingly. The contributor is given 15 to 20 days time. Author(s) identity is removed from the manuscript and shielded from the reviewers during the review process. The reviewers are left with only manuscript without any information that might enable them uncovers the identity of the author(s). Information removed includes the author(s) name, address/affiliation, country, phone/fax and email. Any information in the Acknowledgement and Declaration of Conflict of Interest that may lead to the uncovering of the identity of the author is also removed from the manuscript prior to sending it to the two reviewers.

Manuscripts are assigned to members of the editorial board of the journal or other qualified reviewers. The Manuscript Review Form is used to report the reviewers’ evaluation of the manuscript.
